چکیده

Direct steam generation (DSG) solar power systems eliminate synthetic oils and molten salts in the field enable efficient heat collection. Commercial DSG plants usually have a temperature of 250–285 °C to reduce technical challenges wet turbines costs high-pressure water storage tanks. The conversion efficiency is relatively low due limited temperature. This paper proposes high-temperature system driven by cascade organic Rankine cycle (CORC). It has three features: water/steam for transfer, phase change material (PCM) storage, CORC conversion. first time that tank independent DSG. Steam can be generated at 310 or even 370 °C. fundamental innovative illustrated. thermodynamic performances during normal operation discharge processes are investigated. results show maximum thermal mode 32.85% 311 °C, while top bottom efficiencies 15.38% 20.86%, respectively. increases more than 37% Combining two-tank PCM unit overcome problems decreasing release rate from maintaining system's output prolonging time. proposed potentially cost-effective existing plants.

Adaptive PI Control of an Organic Rankine Cycle Power Plant

In this paper a PI based adaptive control system is developed to control an organic Rankine cycle power plant. In particular, the control of the turbine speed during the transient between the normal operation mode of the system (connected to the grid) and the islandmode (connected to a stand-alone load) is of main concern. A control algorithm suitable for the implementation on a programmable lo...

The Influence of the Heat Source Temperature on the Multivane Expander Output Power in an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) System

Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power systems are nowadays an option for local and domestic cogeneration of heat and electric power. Very interesting are micropower systems for heat recovery from low potential (40–90 °C) waste and renewable heat sources. Designing an ORC system dedicated to heat recovery from such a source is very difficult. Most important problems are connected with the selection ...

A Co-Powered Biomass and Concentrated Solar Power Rankine Cycle Concept for Small Size Combined Heat and Power Generation

The present work investigates the matching of an advanced small scale Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Rankine cycle plant with end-user thermal and electric load. The power plant consists of a concentrated solar power field co-powered by a biomass furnace to produce steam in a Rankine cycle, with a CHP configuration. A hotel was selected as the end user due to its high thermal to electric consump...

Performance and design optimization of a low-cost solar organic Rankine cycle for remote power generation

Recent interest in small-scale solar thermal combined heat and power (CHP) power systems has coincided with demand growth for distributed electricity supplies in areas poorly served by centralized power stations. One potential technical approach to meeting this demand is the parabolic trough solar thermal collector coupled with an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) heat engine. The paper describes the...
